Honeygirl's Birthday Party!!

I finally did it!!
I had a birthday party for Honeygirl!
 
I've wanted to for a while, and she's like 13 now, so that's a lot to celebrate!
[[I saw on Kathie Lee and Hoda the other day where some people had sent in pictures of their dogs' birthday parties. SO cute.]]
 
So two Sundays ago, I made a sign, went and got balloons and party hats, frozen yogurt with doggie treats inside from Feeney's, a little cake, put Honeygirl's sassy summer dress on her, and we had a party!
 
Honeygirl loved the frozen yogurt with the doggie treats inside. She ate some cake too!
Granny brought her a gift and when she opened it she found MORE doggie treats! She stuck her whole head inside the bag trying to get them out. It was adorable.
 
Honeygirl was a regular party animal and thoroughly enjoyed her birthday bash.
I love her so much.
 
The whole party was probably the cutest thing I've ever seen.

Monday Losses and Wins

Mondays seem to be a struggle, but good things usually happen on Mondays.  Last Monday, my day evolved a bit from the time I woke up to the end of the day. It was like the 10th rainy day in a row and I did NOT want to get out of bed and do anything. But then in English class, The Crucible woke everyone up! Just Around the Riverbend

I love Disney music, and lately I've been listening to a lot of Pocahontas.  "Just Around the Riverbend" is one of my favorite Disney songs (lol). Pocahontas is just cruising down the river in her canoe with her little raccoon and the air is filled with hope and she has so many dreams for her life  and she's singing about how she doesn't want to live within the limits that her family has set for her, but go beyond those limits and see what her full potential is. She could play it safe by doing what's easiest and expected of her and not be as happy or she could do her own thing and although it would be harder, she would probably be happier.  Might be a stretch, but I think you can get a couple good lessons out of this song (and many Disney songs!).  1. In order to live life to the fullest, you HAVE to step out of your comfort zone. The easiest path isn't usually the best path. Yesterday I posted about spiritual seasons and in many of the "valleys" in my life I have been waiting on something - waiting on God to answer a prayer, to send this or that. It's funny, I heard the Garth Brooks song "Unanswered Prayers" the other night and had totally forgotten that song existed, but it struck me because truly, when it seems as if God isn't hearing us or answering right away, it just means we are in a season of waiting and He needs us to patiently trust Him, that His plans are coming forth in His time, and there's nothing we can do to rush that.
