Mayberry Days!

"I miss Mayberry, sittin' on the porch drinkin' ice cold Cherry Coke, where everything was black & white..."

Zach and I love to go to Mt. Airy, NC, and we haven't been in a while, so we decided to go last Friday.  We didn't know (until my dad mentioned it) that they were going to be having their annual "Mayberry Days" festival, celebrating the town of Mt. Airy (aka "Mayberry") and the beloved Andy Griffith Show.  Also along for the fun was Sophie, Zach's cousin's adorable two -year-old!

We found out it's a pretty neat experience.  There were tours and people dressed up as the Andy Griffith Show characters, and all of the cute little stores were open with their fall and Christmas merchandise and the soda shops were full of people.  It was like going back in time (just like every visit to Mt. Airy is!).

I barely remember my dad taking us to Mayberry Days when I was younger, and of course I've been to Mt. Airy many times in the past few years, but this was something unique!

It was such a fun time!

 She loved the purse store!!

We painted nails while waiting for our lunch at the soda shop. Her hands are so TINY!

 haha!

Sophie got a lollipop :)

And I had to post a pic of the cool purchases that were made! The Elvis purse is one I picked out for myself, and Zach picked out the Appalachian purse all by himself and got it for me! How sweet.

I also got my dad an Andy Griffith Show dvd set and a country hymns album because his birthday was this past weekend. More about that later!
