Scarlet Red & Snow White

Tonight I was trying to stay up to work on some writing and cleaning. I accidentally fell asleep for a couple hours and woke up around 3:30am to find that even more snow had fallen. As I looked out at the neighborhood covered in beautiful white fluff, in all its silent and peaceful glory, all I could think was Isaiah 1:18:
“Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord:
though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red like crimson,
    they shall become like wool."

In FCS a couple months ago, we talked about how God's forgiveness covers our ugly sin the same way pretty snow covers everything. Suddenly, even garbage cans are pretty, and do you see Emery's poop in the yard? No! It's covered with the white fluff!

Thank goodness for mercy, grace, and forgiveness that covers even the ugliest sin in our lives.

"Sin had left a crimson stain; He washed it white as snow."
